11-26-11 Six Weeks Old

Happy Birthday Puppies - 6 Weeks!

The puppies awoke early (5:15 AM). I put them to bed early, and most were ready to eat this morning early. Last night, I started feeding them individually to slow down their eating rate. Some didn't even show any interest in eating without the competition. We have one or two (depending on the time of day) who are having a separation problem from me or their siblings. You will know because we have a ton of crying happening! I will offer them food to make sure this isn't the problem. Of course, I have several other puppies that are sleeping without a problem as a comparison. If they don't eat the food, you know there is another problem. If this happens to you, I don't pick them up when they are crying. They have to be quiet or bad behavior will be reinforced. I have classic music playing to calm them down. I let them cry themselves to sleep - just like you would a child.

Koa's Parents Visit to Choose Their Puppy

Playing and Sleeping

Waiting

11-16-11

At 10:15, I walked into the utility room. Everybody got up to great me and tried to promptly walk over to the P&P (Puddles and Poop) side of their living quarters. I had a hard time holding them back - getting very strong and willing! Imagine! It was hard, but I was able to get the P&P picked up. Then, they sat on their clean potty pad begging me to pick them up! They all looked at me with expecting eyes - I was also looking for the culprit who took poop back to their Play and Live side of the their quarters. Hmmmmm....they had cleaned the evidence off on the crate bars! Didn't catch my pup this time!

This photo was taken after everyone was happy with our love session!

This afternoon we got our adjustable big puppy collars. We never noticed the change! They just look better and now you will be able to identify us better and quicker!

6:11PM All ears twitch when I go into the utility room to get ice out of the refrigerator!

10:20PM Goodnight my little pumpkins! We were up very early this morning - 4AM! We had breakfast finished and cleaned up by 5AM. Lights are out and puppies are asleep!

11-12-11 Four Weeks Old

It's our Birthday! 4 Weeks! Today, we get to eat to ground up dry food to get our teeth to cut through the gums faster! We aren't sure if we like this better than our gruel! We still look forward to getting our milk. We also had our last meal from Mom! She is still near us and watching us all the time!

11-05-11 Three Weeks Old

11-04-11

Loaded up the puppies for their 1st worming this morning. This was their second ride in the car, and they slept quietly all the way to the vet. We took them in the back door, so we could avoid any dogs that might have a problem. They weighed an average of 1 lb and 4 oz. CoCo was waiting for me when I returned home. She was ready to see her puppies again! Tonight, they recognized when I took her outside that she was leaving them. One of the puppies came to the fence and stuck her nose out. I saw in her eyes that she realized Mom was leaving her. She had everyone SINGING for MOM with all their cute noises and didn't stop until Mom was back. Then, I let her nurse again. I feed her at 11PM and hopefully we will be able to go to sleep around midnight tonight. ROLE REVERSAL TODAY!

11-03-11

The puppies recognized food today. I put a plate of milk supplement down, and they knew to lap it up today! Of course, they had milk all over themselves when they were finished! VERY ADVANCED PUPPIES to start lapping at this stage!
